VALLEYS DE JUCLAR, ESTANYS LAKES DE JUCLAR, COL DE JUCLAR (2442 m)

Starting point: The end of Vall (Valley) d'Incles.
Path: Trail GR 11 7A.
Total ascent:   700 m
Time: 2h30

Degree of difficulty: Easy.
Points of interest: This is a glacial basin excavated on a gneiss base containing various minerals.A headwall cut into sharp peaks backs. Estany de Juclar , Andorra's largest lake (21h). Collada (col) de Juclar: Here you can see a magnificent view of the Albe crests and of Rulle peak. 

 

 

LAKE DE SISCARO (2408 m)

Starting point: End of Vall (Valley) d'Incles.
Path: GRP1.
Total ascent:   400 m
Time: 1h30
Degree of difficulty: Easy.
Points of interest: This lake takes its name from "siscall" (glasswort), a rush-like plant that grows in the water of the lake and in its surroundings, lending an exotic touch to the landscape. If you wish, you can continue to Port (pass) d'Envalira (total ascent 500m., time 2h 30min.). 

 

 

LAKE DE CABANA SORDA (2295 m)

Stating point : vall (Valley) d'Incles (a wooden sign indicates the path).
Path: Take the left-hand path from Incles valley.
Total ascent: <  500 m
Time: 1h45
Degree of difficulty: Easy.
Points of interest: The Cabana Sorda area is composed of large limestone plates.

 

 

LAKE D'ENGOLASTERS (1616 m)

Starting point : Beside the Encamp cable car.
Path: GR11.
Total ascent:   300 m
Time: 1h30
Degree of difficulty: Easy.
Points of interest: Walks around the lake. In the relaxed atmosphere of this area you will be able to observe a number of interesting species of flora.

 

 

CIRCLE DELS PESSONS (2300 m)

Starting point : Grau Roig (end of the track).
Path: GR7.
Total ascent:   800 m
Time: 2h30
Degree of difficulty: Easy.
Points of interest: The Pessons Circle is a succession of seven interlinking lakes and some nameless ponds set in the heart of Andorra's largest granite cirque. Despite the apparent aridity, a large variety of alpine flowers may be observed here. A restaurant stands by the first lake.

 

 

LAKE DE MONTMALUS (2440 m)

Starting point : Montmalus Ski-lift, at Grau Roig.
Path: follow the yelow points to collada (Col) de Montmalas. From here you can see the lake. Total ascent:   580 m
Time: 2h45
Degree of difficulty: Easy.
Points of interest: Estany (Lake) and river of Montmalus are a part of the Conca hidrografica del riu Segre . 

 

 

LAKES DE TRISTAINA (2500 m)

Starting point : Coma (valley) del Forat (Ordino-Arcalis slopes), at the Ordino's ring.
Path: marked track.
Total ascent:   280 m
Time: To the first lake: 20min., to all the lakes: 2h. 30 min.
Degree of difficulty: Easy.
Points of interest: It is interesting to walk around all three lakes. Here you can enjoy a panoramic view of a striking glacial landscape. 

 

 

LAKES D'ANGONELLA (2346 m)

Starting point : Llorts.
Path: GRP1.
Total ascent:   1300 m
Time: 4h30
Degree of difficulty: Medium
Points of interest: lakes and the shelter. 

 

 

COL DELS ESTANYS LAKES FORCATS (2742 m)

Starting points : At the end of the Arinsal road and and the beginning of GR11 1A.
Path: Follow the trail that forks off from GR11 1
Total ascent:   1400 m
Time: de 4 a 5h
Degree of difficulty: Medium.
Points of interest: Pyrenean chamois (izards) and variety of minerals may be observed along this trail. 

 

 

LAKES DE MONTMANTELL (2630-2670 m)

Starting points : At the end of the Arinsal road.
Path: take the GR11 until you cross the GR11 1 A, then follow that until you arrive at the crossing where you then take the track to the right marked as leading to the Montmantell lakes. Total ascent:   1200 m
Time: 4h
Degree of difficulty: Easy.
Points of interest: The glacial lakes and moraines of Montmantell. 

 

 

LAKE DE LA NOU (2231 m)

Starting point : Tosca Bridge or Muntanya swimming pool (at Escaldes-Engordany) to Perafita Shelter (GR11 10A).
Path: GRP1.
Total ascent:   1550 m
Time: 2h15 min
Degree of difficulty: Easy.
Points of interest: No surface streams run into this pear shaped lake, which is fed by underground sources. At the lake's east end, the overflow forms a stream with and almost feature of this lake is that its water is never very cold.

From VALLEY DEL MADRIU to LAKE DE L'ILLA (2517 m)

Starting point : La Tosca bridge or La Muntanya swimming pool.
Path: GR7 and GR11.
Total ascent:   1300 m
Time: 5h
Degree of difficulty: Easy, very flat.
Points of interest: The whole itinerary, which borders the river Madriu at all times, offers a surprising view of riverside tree groves and high mountain forest (poplars, as trees, alders, black pine, fir etc.). You will also see "bordes" (cottages), "cortals" (pens), herdsmen's huts, shelters and an extension of lakes. The entire Madriu valley may be considered a nature park.
