CANILLO-SOLDEU NATURE ITINERARY

Starting points : Town of Canillo (take the bridge that leads to Prats on the left).
Path: The itinerary is signposted with a capercaillie symbol.
Total ascent:   280 m

Degree of difficulty: easy.
Points of interest: Situated on the shady side of the river Valira d'Orient, this itinerary joins the two largest towns of the parish. It has several stops and a large number of guide and information signs, with six entrances from the main road. 

 

 

NATURE ITINERARY OF HISTORICAL-CULTURAL INTEREST

Starting point : Town of Canillo.
Path: From the church of Santa Creu to Prats, passing by the Seven-Armed Cross. The route splits into two paths in Prats, one of which leads to Meritxell. The other path splits again at an altitude of 1.690m, one of the branches continuing to Roc (rock) de les Bruixes, while the other circumvents an estate and leads to the El Rec path or el Canal path, which run to a deep stream forming the boundary of the parishes of Encamp and Canillo.

THE OLD ROAD OR HIGHROAD (CAMI VELL O RAL) from Arans to El Serrat Starting point : Town of Arans.

Path: Trail GR11 2 A.

Degree of difficulty: Walk.
Points of interest: This path leads by a ferruginous spring, l'Estarell bridge and a beautiful river with a number of cascades.

 

 

OLD TRACK TO ESCAS

Starting point : Old town of La Massana (near the church).
Path: marked path..

Points of interest: Chruch, old town of La Massana and ancestral homes of Escas.

 

 

REC (IRRIGATION CHANNEL) DE L'OBAC

Starting point : Turn out of Escaldes along Avinguda Tarragona
Path: Straight, direction to Els Serradells.
Time: 20 min
Degree of difficulty: Walk.
Points of interest: a walking and jogging itinerary where you can enjoy the invigorating smell of the aromatic plants that line the way. 

 

 

REC (IRRIGATION CHANNEL) DEL SOLA

Starting point : At the end of the road leading to the col.legi (school) Sant Ermengol.
Path: Straight.

Points of interest: This path skirts the irrigation channel supplyng the garden plots in the sunny area of Andorra la Vella. This is a small and pleasant walk that provides a very good view of the valley. It is also an excellent jogging circuit.

Starting point : Hotel Espel.
Path: marked path.

Points of interest: The little Romanesque chrurch Sant Roma dels Vilars, with a pre-Romanesque apse.

 

 

  VALL (Valley) D'INCLES and PORT (Pass) D'INCLES (2250 m)

Starting point : From the Vall (Valley) d'Incles road.
Path: At the end of the road, link up the GR1 and follow that untl arriving at a plateau, where you leave it and take the track leading off to the right.

Points of interest: Beautiful views of the Fontargent lakes. 

 

 

PORTELLA (Gap) DE JOAN ANTONI

Starting point : Envalira Pass (to the right, in the direction on France).
Path: Trail GR7 2A.
Total ascent: 300 m
Time: 1h30
Degree of difficulty: Medium.
Points of interest: There is a surprising panoramic view of Andorra's largest glacial formations. The high-mountain floras is very interesting. 

 

 

COL DELS MENERS (2713 m)

Starting point : The end of the track leading to the Sorteny shelter (10 minutes from the shelter).
Path: GRP1
Total ascent: 700 m
Time: 2h30
Degree of difficulty: Easy.
Points of interest: La Mina lake to the west is kidney-shaped. It as a sky blue colour that turns dark grey in bad weather. This is an authentic glacial erosion basin.

 

 

From LES BONS to COLD'ORDINO (1980 m)

Starting point : Encamp, direction to les Bons.
Path: GR11
Total ascent: 700 m
Time: 3h
Degree of difficulty: Easy.
Points of interest: At Coll d'Ordino there is a panel with the name of all the peaks that are visible from that point. From the crest itself, you will be able to see the great diversity of vegetation in the surroundings and the rugged landscape.

 

 

From LA BORDA DE LES PARDINES to the SHELTER DE LES AGOLS (2250m)

Starting point :
The road in the direction of Cortals d'Encamp to the "borda" (cottage) of Les Pardines, taking the first track (road) to the right.
Path: There is a wooden singpost that indicates the path to take.
Total ascent: 650 m
Time: 2h15
Degree of difficulty: Easy.
Points of interest: This is an area where the granite rock stands in sharp contrast to the rugged black pines that are stubbornly rooted in it. The ground covering is mainly composed of brambles and of patches of marsh grass that have given rise to peat deposits. 

 

 

From SEGUDET to COL D'ORDINO (1980 m)

Starting point : Town of Segudet (take the turning on the right ).
Path: GR11.
Total ascent: <  650 m
Time: 3h
Degree of difficulty: Easy.
Points of interest: This is a beautiful path through the Ordino fir woods. Many different species of flora may be seen here. There is a guide panel at Coll d'Ordino. 

 

 

From LA COMA VALLEY DEL FORAT to PASS DEL RAT (2539 m)

Starting point : Coma (Valley) del Forat (at Ordino-Arcalis ski resort).
Path: Take the track marked which leads to the Tristaina Lakes. When you arrive at the third lake, take the track leading off from thr right of the lake.

Time: 2h
Degree of difficulty: Medium.
Points of interest: El Forat valley: this is a broad extension of pastures where mares, stallions and colts graze. At Port (pass) del Rat there is an interesting view of the crest line forming the frontier. 

 

 

PASS SIGUER (2395 m)

Starting point : el Serrat.
Path: take the track to Rialb, passing the Rialb mountain refuge and continuing on the Cabana Vella, then take the track that leads off to the rleft at the crossing.

Degree of difficulty: Easy.
Points of interest: At Siguer pass there is a beautiful view of Blau lake (France) which reflects the sunlight in tones ranging from light blue to blue-green and lilac blue.

 

 

PORT DE BANYELL (2528 m)

Starting point : el Serrat.
Path: take the track to Rialb, passing the Rialb mountain refuge and continuing on the Cabana Vella, then take the track that leads off to the right at the crossing.

Time: 3h30 min
Degree of difficulty: Easy.
Points of interest: The "tramuntana" or north wind blows here almost always. There is a good panoramic view over Soulanet lake (France) at the foot of Thoumaset peak. 

 

 

COL D'ORDINO – HILL DE LES NERES (2211 m)

Starting point : coll (col) d'Ordino.
Path: follow the forecast track which bring you out at the Bony (Hill) de les Neres.
Total ascent: 231 m
Time: 45 min
Degree of difficulty: Easy.
Points of interest: Thick forest and undergrowth. You will enjoy blazing your own path to explore this area. 

 

 

PATH FROM ARINSAL TO PASS DE BAIAU (2756 m)

Starting point : Arinsal, at the end of the road.
Path:
GR11.
Total ascent: 1400 m
Time: de 4 a 5h
Degree of difficulty: Medium.

Points of interest: a wild and varied landscape. To the west you can see a broad extension of lakes. 

 

 

 PRAT PRIMER (2215 m)

Starting point : La Comella road.
Path: By car along La Comella road to the track to La Plana. From here, walk to Prat Primer (along a marked path), and once you reach the "cortal" (pen) at La Plana, follow the path that borders the river.

Degree of difficulty: Easy.
Points of interest: The "cortal" (pen) of La Plana is a very beautiful spot with a harmonious arrangement of meadows, birches and pines, and rounded stones near the basin. The Prat Primer shelter is a haven of silence and serenity.
